How we play, behave and represent Solihull Sonics
At Solihull Sonics, every player is part of a community built on respect, teamwork and enjoyment. This Player Charter sets out the standards we expect from all young athletes so that everyone can learn, grow and thrive in a safe and positive environment.
Respect for Everyone
As a Solihull Sonics player, you agree to:
Treat all teammates, coaches, officials and opponents with respect
- Show kindness and fairness to everyone, regardless of race, religion, background, gender or ability
- Help create a team environment where everyone feels welcome and valued
- Challenge discrimination or bullying by speaking to a coach or trusted adult
Effort, Attitude & Teamwork
Players agree to:
- Always try their best in training and games
- Listen to coaches and follow instructions
- Support teammates and celebrate their successes
- Show resilience, positivity and a willingness to learn
Behaviour On and Off the Court
Players agree to:
Represent the club with pride, respect and good sportsmanship
- Play by the rules and accept decisions made by referees
- Avoid arguing, swearing or showing poor attitude
- Treat equipment, venues and staff with care and respect
Commitment & Responsibility
Players agree to:
- Arrive on time and ready to train
- Bring the correct kit, water and any required medication
- Let coaches know if they are injured, unwell or unable to attend
- Take responsibility for their own development and conduct
Safety, Wellbeing & Support
Players agree to:
- Follow all safety instructions from coaches and staff
- Tell a coach or trusted adult if they feel unsafe, worried or uncomfortable
- Respect personal boundaries and the wellbeing of others
- Uphold the club’s values of inclusion, fairness and community
Social Media & Communication
Players agree to:
- Use social media responsibly and respectfully
- Never post hurtful, discriminatory or inappropriate content
- Protect the privacy of teammates and opponents
- Follow the club’s guidance on online behaviour
